These are things I can help you with:
- Mixing
- Studio assistance (setup, session, pack down)
- Pro Tools operation (Avid Certified Pro Tools Specialist)

- Live sound (setup, event, pack down)
Drop me a line below if you need help with any of this!

Ok, so for a more traditional “about” page:
I hail from the majestic neighbourhood of Pavas, in the western periphery of San José, the capital of Costa Rica
I spent the bulk of professional career (so almost 20 years) as a network and network automation engineer at various companies in Costa Rica and a few places in Europe
At some point, though, I realised that wasn’t the way I wanted to spend the majority of my waking hours. Because I play guitar since my mid-teens, studying classical guitar and playing in a guitar orchestra and several bands, I thought I should pursue a more creative path. After some serious thought and several conversations with a very supportive partner ❤️ I figured I’d give sound engineering a shot

In October 2024 I started the one year Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering at Abbey Road Institute. During that time I not only discovered how fascinating I found the process of studio recording (and obviously still do), but I also realised that the animosity I had developed towards tech had more to do with being an employee at companies whose missions I didn’t really care much about than with the subject matter of technology itself
So apart from spending a lot of time in the studio, very often just experimenting different mic placements/signal paths/outboard gear settings* I also found out I very much wanted to dive deeper in the technical aspects of modern music recording and sound processing. This meant not just dusting off the bits of knowledge I gained during my Electrical Engineering degree and thought I’d mostly forgotten, but also redirecting the software development skills I stumbled upon at work to audio software development
* probably the most common interaction my compà Pietro and I had during the course was “should we try [whatever seemingly senseless signal path]?”… “<shrug> why not?” Half of the time the result was fairly meh but we also did find interesting techniques this way
So, besides eagerly maximising the time I spend in studios (studiomaxxing?) I have recently spent a fair amount of time building my own plugins. As of writing this, Phonopter is in beta stage, and I have a couple more things starting to take shape
Head over to my portfolio page for some sample of the things I’ve worked on, or send me a message and let’s get to work!
